Town Hall Meeting with Tim Russert, from NBC’s Meet the Press, and Senator Barack Obama
Partnership for Public Service, Warner Theatre

On July 26 WIP interns attended the fourth annual internship event sponsored by the Partnership for Public Service, a nonpartisan organization that works to inform and inspire young people about the opportunities available in public service – especially through the federal government. This year, a huge town- hall meeting for interns was held at the Warner Theatre where moderator Tim Russert, from NBC’s Meet the Press,interviewed Democratic Senator Barack Obama from Illinois. Following the event, a career fair gave attendees the chance to speak with federal recruiters from a variety of government agencies. Many interns wrote in their final papers that this event was among the most moving they attended all summer.
