Potomac River Brunch
Dance Cruise aboard the Odyssey
On Saturday, July 1, the Washington Internship Program treated all interns to a sight-seeing tour and gourmet brunch / dance cruise on the Potomac River aboard the Odyssey. This sizable ship, made largely of glass, is a floating restaurant and dance floor with upper and lower decks that hold up to 700 people. Aboard the two-hour-cruise on this Independence-Day weekend, interns were able to choose from an assortment of breakfast and lunch choices complete with champagne, deserts, and a chocolate-fountain with fruit. A live band played popular music from past and present while both WIP students and staff members danced with abandon. Students boarded the boat at the harbor on Water Street for this experience in fine dining and sight-seeing aboard a ship that is quite stable since there are no tides on a river. The culinary, musical, sailing delight normally costs over $70 per person, but WIP paid for interns to enjoy this July 4th celebration on which we were all blessed with glorious weather.
