Population Institute: “Youth and Population Growth”

On Thursday, July 6, the Population Institute – a nonprofit organization in Washington, D.C. that is associated with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) – invited all WIP interns to a symposium on “Youth and Population Growth” at the National Press Club. This educational and networking experience, titled: “The Youth Surge,” examined the demographic trend of the largest age cohort: sixteen through twenty-five years of age, which is at the peak of its reproductive years. The anticipated impact of this group on upcoming elections was discussed in the light of recent studies.
