“History, Politics, and Architecture of
Washington, D.C.”

Washington Internship Program’s International House

On Thursday evening, January 5, Dr. Linda Bayer, executive director of the Washington Internship Program, delivered a slide lecture for all new interns on the history, politics, and architecture of Washington, D.C. Dr. Bayer has a Ph.D. in art history – in addition to her other doctoral work in English, education, and psychology – and she provided valuable insight into a city rich in culture. (This lecture was given again on March 2 for new spring students who missed the winter presentation and in two parts on June 15 and 22 as well as late September and early October for interns beginning in the summer and fall terms.) During the second half  of class, internships were discussed as were ways to improve work assignments and solve problems on the job.
