Congressional breakfast / lecture,
Rayburn House Office Building
Speaker: Representative Judy Biggert, Republican from Illinois
On Thursday, July 20, WIP interns were invited to a catered breakfast and lecture on Capitol Hill, sponsored by the Washington Internship Program in one of the Congressional reception suites available only to members of the House of Representatives. Congresswoman Judy Biggert, a Republican from Illinois’ 13th District, spoke exclusively to participants in the Washington Internship Program, following which she answered questions.
Representative Biggert discussed her recent trip to Iraq, her opposition to President’s Bush’s position on stem-cell research, and other legislative matters on which she was working. Karmen Wong, from Northwestern University in Illinois, was a WIP summer intern working for Congresswoman Biggert.
