“Washington and Work”
On the History, Politics, Art and Architecture of Washington, D.C. as well as the
Sociology of the Workplace, taught by Dr. Linda Bayer
Thursday evenings, 7:30 – 10:00, primarily at Georgetown University along with International House and throughout the city

Additional course for overseas interns from countries where English is not the native language:
“English Language, Literature, and Culture”
taught by Andrew Kolb, Mondays, 7-10 pm
SPECIAL EVENTS THAT SUPPLEMENTED REGULAR CLASS MEETINGS
The course on “Washington and Work” met on Thursday evenings in the classroom at Georgetown University and in WIP facilities as well as throughout the city at cultural institutions, think-tanks, policy-related organizations, art and history museums, foreign embassies, universities, government agencies and offices, nonprofit groups, private companies, athletic stadiums, and media centers or stations. Grades were based on final papers, class discussion of reading assignments, writing tasks in connection with internships, and evaluations submitted by internship supervisors on forms provided by the Washington Internship Program. In addition to weekly classes, the following special sessions supplemented the course in 2006:
